Endothelial Microscopy in Berlin

Endothelial microscopy is the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the eye front transparent layer – corneal – internal cell layer endothelium. It is a high-resolution, non-contact (non-invasive) light-reflecting computer-aided special camera. The device performs measurement very quickly (within seconds) and without pain. Thus, conclusions can be drawn of the function and the general condition of the most important layer of the cornea. An accurate diagnostics of the endothelium can help to identify not just the reason for changes, but also to plan treatment of frequent eye diseases – glaucoma, uveitis, Fuchs endothelial dystrophy.
